| yup the baby arrived!
However in Kazakhstan it is the tradition for the baby to stay at home for the first 40 days - I was lucky to be allowed to see him so we could post web images for their family back home. |
| On May 18 it was the 40th day and Arman kindly asked me to the celebration at Cafe Dolce.
Blessed with sunshine, friends and family. This was such a great new thing to be a part of. |
| Traditional food was served and then their was the bag! |
| Saltanya gave out gifts to each person - something to wear - that in turn when you wear it you send good energy to the baby. |
| I got a scarf and flag! |
| Some warm fun slippers! |
| Grandma had come all the way to help with the baby's arrival and be here through the first 40 days. |
| Congratulations!! Thank you so much for asking me to such a special event. |

Workshop Whimsy Part 2

| This was a grab shot of someone else's idea but the light was so gorgeous it was hard to resist. |
| The second day we had an exercise where we drew a word from a hat and had to free write for 15 minutes about that word. I drew PEACE. Amazing how many pages I scribbled - it is a word that has been a big part of my life recently - trying to make peace with a broken arm, and other such things. Anyhow if you want a fun exercise put some words in a hat pull one out and write!
Then go out and photograph some of those words!! Here is my favorite image for peace. |
| I then played with the idea of what makes us feel peaceful - for me meditation is a big one. |
| Finding a quiet spot. |
| And then there is Yoga. Shelly has amazing balance and grace she could hold this pose balanced on a rock in the water for a good few minutes!
Thank you Shelly - and thank you Julianne for such a great few days. Thank you all the other folks at the workshop - for the companionship, ideas, and new ways of looking at things. Have a good weekend all! |

| I have found the most awesome line of kids clothing - fun and funky and it does not leave a huge dent in your wallet. This clothing photographs awesomely so I am holding a trunk show at the studio - on Friday June 11 and Saturday June 12, 2010 from 9am - 3pm.
