Kimberly

So I decided for something different during 2010 that I would look to our awesome community and each month highlight a woman that I think is doing something inspiring, creative, good for the community or just down right interesting. As you can see I already am behind - but please meet Kimberly Baker who is Our Inspiration Gal of the month for January 2010.

I have know Kimberly for quite a while now - and she is wicked skier! Also she can give anyone a run for the $ with the hula hoop! But this is not why I talked to Kimberly for January.

What made me talk to Kimberly is her profession, she is a practitioner of Neuro-Linguistics and Life Coaching. What this means is that she works with clients using some different techniques to traditional therapy to help her clients remap their minds so they can lead fuller, healthier, and more satisfying lives.

Some of the techniques she uses are guided visualizations, meditations and exercises designed to help them more easily overcome their difficulties, achieve their goals, and attain more self-confidence, leading to an improved self image. Kimberly believes that by bringing positive thoughts to the forefront of their minds, her clients can effectively and easily align their behaviors with their beliefs. This is something that Kimberly is very passionate about, and she loves to talk about it, and believes that we can achieve anything we can imagine.

Since we met to talk about her Neuro Linguisitc work Kimberly has just been announced as the new Manager for the Missoula Children’s Museum. This is a great fit and extension of her other passion as both the Museum and the parenting organization Families First embody the values and beliefs she uses when coaching her clients.

As you can see Kimberly has a wonderfully open and engaging smile and way of being so say hello to her when you are at the Museum, or just on the street for that matter!

The perfect round baby belly! These two are going to wonderful parents - and are so excited... I am excited but daunted they are due the day after Finn turns 11... which means by the time their baby is Finn's age - he will be 21! I am having a hard time believing how fast time goes with your kids and that I am halfway through the pleasure of having them under our roof.

Not much longer to wait!!
